The system features a heavy-duty galvanised steel swivel hinge rail that ensures maximum strength and durability. The rail is engineered to be the toughest in the UK, designed to withstand the rigours of heavy-duty use. It is not self-supporting, so it must be mounted onto a structurally sound surface spanning the entire opening. The curtains themselves are made from standard clear PVC strips, each 400mm wide and 4mm thick, securely bolted onto the rail for added strength.
Easy Installation and Versatility
Installation of these curtains is straightforward but requires attention to detail. The rails can be fitted either face or soffit mounted depending on the selected bracket. The PVC strips come pre-punched with hanging holes that align perfectly with the rail setup. Although the M8 nuts and bolts required for securing the strips are included, fixings for mounting the rail to the surface are not provided and should be supplied by the installer. Once in place, the strips slot into the swivel hinges and are fastened with the provided bolts.

This residual curl will typically flatten out over time, though it may take longer in colder conditions. To expedite this process, you can unroll and leave the strips to flatten overnight or reverse-roll them. Applying gentle heat can also help.

Fixings: M8 nuts and bolts are supplied to attach PVC strips to the rail’s swivel hinges. But fixings for attaching the rails mounting brackets to your fitting surface are NOT. These need to be supplied by installer and be suitable for fitting surface.

Longevity: PVC strip is considered a consumable product. How fast it’s consumed is beyond any manufacturer’s or supplier’s control. Its lifespan will be dictated by where it’s used, what type of traffic might move through it and how carefully (or aggressively) such traffic does so. To help maximise its working life, we always recommend that PVC curtains are fitted internally behind doors or openings that can provide a degree of shelter. If they’re fitted outside of a doorway or building, fully exposed to the elements all day and night, they can deteriorate and/or lose clarity more quickly. The rate of this will depend entirely on the severity of the local weather. We have some customers who replace their PVC annually… others who’ve had the same for many, many years.
