DeciMat is a specialist 3mm closed-cell foam underlay engineered to reduce impact noise transmission through concrete floors — ideal for apartments, multi-storey buildings, and commercial premises where footfall noise is a complaint or Building Regulations Part E compliance issue. The closed-cell structure provides consistent impact sound reduction without compression over time.
What DeciMat Does
Impact noise — footsteps, dropped objects, chair scraping — travels through solid concrete as structure-borne sound and re-radiates as airborne noise in the room below. DeciMat decouples your floor finish from the concrete slab, absorbing and dissipating impact energy before it enters the structure. The result is a measurable reduction in ΔL (impact sound level) transmitted to adjacent rooms.
