Premium Grade Natural Rubber Sheet is a high-quality, general-purpose rubber sheeting material produced from natural rubber (NR) compound to BS1154 specification. Available in thicknesses from 1.5mm to 25mm and cut to length by the linear metre, this rubber sheet is the benchmark material for sealing, lining, cushioning, and vibration isolation applications across engineering, industrial, and laboratory environments in the UK.
Key Features
- BS1154 natural rubber compound: Standard engineering-grade natural rubber with excellent tensile strength, elongation, and resilience
- Wide thickness range: 1.5mm to 25mm — from thin sealing gaskets to thick anti-vibration pads, all from a single consistent compound
- 1.4m wide rolls: Full-width rolls maximise usable area, reduce joins in lining and covering applications
- Cut to length by the metre: Order exactly what you need — minimum 1 metre, maximum 10 metres per length
- Good abrasion resistance: Natural rubber's high abrasion resistance makes it suitable for wear surfaces and lining applications
- Chemical resistance: Resistant to mild organic acids, ketones, aldehydes, and mild detergents
- High elasticity: Natural rubber's exceptional elongation and recovery makes it ideal for sealing, cushioning, and dynamic applications

Typical Applications
- Gasket cutting: Cut your own gaskets from sheet for pipe flanges, inspection covers, and equipment sealing
- Tank and vessel lining: Line storage tanks and vessels handling mildly corrosive or abrasive materials
- Anti-vibration pads: Cut to size for machine feet, compressor bases, HVAC equipment isolation
- Conveyor belt lagging: Sheet rubber lagging for drive pulleys and conveyor system wear surfaces
- Bumper and protector strips: Dock bumpers, wall protectors, corner guards in loading and dispatch areas
- Noise and impact damping: Lining panels, partitions, and enclosures to reduce structure-borne noise
- Agricultural and equestrian: Stall liners, handling area matting, and anti-slip surfaces in farm buildings
Choosing the Right Thickness
- 1.5mm–3mm: Gaskets, seals, thin liners, rubber-faced boards
- 4mm–6mm: Light anti-vibration, flexible pads, cushioning between components
- 8mm–12mm: Anti-vibration mounting pads, machine feet, impact protection
- 15mm–25mm: Heavy-duty anti-vibration, thick cushioning, structural isolation
Frequently Asked Questions
Is natural rubber waterproof?
Natural rubber has good water resistance but is not designed for continuous immersion in water under pressure. For wet sealing applications, it performs well in static joints and gaskets. For outdoor or continuously wet exposure, EPDM rubber sheet is generally preferred.
Can I cut natural rubber sheet myself?
Yes — natural rubber sheet can be cut with a sharp utility knife, scissors, or a die-cutting press depending on the thickness and precision required. For thicker sections (10mm+), a sharp blade with a straight edge gives clean results.
Is this suitable for food contact?
Standard BS1154 natural rubber is not certified for food contact. For food-safe applications, specify our food-grade natural rubber or contact us for guidance on suitable compound grades.
