Our Heavy Duty Natural Rubber Sheet is a versatile, commercial-grade rubber material available in thicknesses from 1.5mm to 25mm, supplied cut to your required length from 1.4m wide rolls. Manufactured from natural rubber compound, this sheeting offers excellent abrasion resistance, flexibility, and resistance to mild organic chemicals — making it suitable for a wide range of industrial, agricultural, and commercial applications across the UK.

Natural rubber provides superior mechanical properties to many synthetic alternatives — excellent tensile strength, high elongation at break, and outstanding tear resistance — making this sheet the preferred specification for applications where toughness and flexibility are both required.

Natural rubber is NOT recommended for: petroleum oils and fuels, aromatic solvents, strong oxidising acids, or outdoor UV-exposed applications. For oil resistance, specify nitrile rubber. For outdoor/UV applications, specify EPDM. Contact us if you're unsure which compound is correct for your application.

What is the difference between natural rubber and SBR?

Natural rubber (NR) is derived from the Hevea brasiliensis tree and has superior mechanical properties — higher tensile strength, better tear resistance, and greater elongation. SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) is synthetic, typically made from recycled tyre material, and is more cost-effective for general flooring applications. For applications requiring maximum mechanical performance, natural rubber is the better specification.

Can this rubber sheet be used as stable matting?

Yes — in thicknesses of 15mm–25mm, natural rubber sheet can be used as stable flooring. However, our dedicated solid SBR stable mats (17mm and 22mm) are purpose-formulated for equestrian use and are typically more cost-effective.

How is this sold — by the metre or by weight?
