Frequently Asked Questions

Is natural rubber waterproof?

Natural rubber has good water resistance but is not designed for continuous immersion in water under pressure. For wet sealing applications, it performs well in static joints and gaskets. For outdoor or continuously wet exposure, EPDM rubber sheet is generally preferred.

Can I cut natural rubber sheet myself?

Yes — natural rubber sheet can be cut with a sharp utility knife, scissors, or a die-cutting press depending on the thickness and precision required. For thicker sections (10mm+), a sharp blade with a straight edge gives clean results.

Is this suitable for food contact?

Standard BS1154 natural rubber is not certified for food contact. For food-safe applications, specify our food-grade natural rubber or contact us for guidance on suitable compound grades.
